MARI stands for Mandala Assessment Research Instrument.
It is a comprehensive system that uses symbols, known as mandalas, to reveal the inner truth and reality of the subject as it is – not what the ego filters of consciousness would want it to be. Carl Jung recognized the mandala as “the centre of personality, a kind of central point within the psyche, to which everything is related, by which everything is arranged and which is, itself, a source of energy. This is also an excellent description of the MARI.

Each session type above will vary, but the Complete MARI Assessment session described below includes the steps in each session.
When you come into the office (or on Zoom), I'll introduce myself, and ask if you have any questions before we start the session.
The first step of the process is the mandala drawing. You'll be given a paper with a pre-drawn circle and oil pastels, and asked to surprise yourself. No previous art experience is needed. This will be interpreted at the end of the session.
You will then intuitively choose symbols that speak to you and colors that you feel go along with the symbols.
At this point, I explain the symbolism of the Great Round to help you understand what you'll be looking at during the next step.
Placing the symbol and color cards on the Great Round is similar to putting a puzzle together. This puzzle happens to be made up of your mind – conscious and unconscious.
Each symbol belongs in a certain place on the board, and each symbol/color combination has its own meaning. I will go through the cards one by one, reading the meanings. When this is finished, we will go over your mandala drawing for a similar interpretation process.
A personalized report is generated based on your symbol/color combinations and our discussion. It will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
